Lauren is an Amherst County native who has lived in Charlottesville for the last several years. Formerly a newspaper copy editor, Lauren is now a communications professional who works with Albemarle County Public Schools in addition to her administrative role at Piedmont Counseling Collective.

She is passionate about helping her fellow community members access mental health care. Working with schools gives her a unique perspective on how mental health not only affects individuals, but the broader community at large. As someone who also benefits from weekly therapy visits and has experienced what can sometimes be a struggle in accessing that care, she is dedicated to making the therapeutic process as easy as possible for others.

In her spare time, Lauren loves to read and travel! Friends, family, and her many “fur babies” are the most important thing to Lauren, and are the driving force behind her passion for striving to make her community a better, more peaceful place.
