Andy Hawkes

M.Ed, Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy under Margaret Sheehan, LMFT

I am delighted to work with families, couples, throuples, poly systems, and queer populations. With two trans kids, I know a lot of ways to support the trans community and my empathy for their experience is deep. My focus is on trauma and developing the relationship to the self. I want to help people find an empowered stance to make conscious choices for their lives, with as much awareness as possible.

Grounded in attachment theory, Emotionally focused therapy is one of my favorite models.  I like to pair that with the Gottman Method and pull in some Internal Family Systems work.  Mindfulness and somatic practices are also a focus because the mind and the body are not separate. The psyche is designed to heal itself and I am here to help you explore your own inner healing capacity through illumination of your internal strengths which help you create the life you want for yourself.

I offer a safe place to land. I will be inviting you to slow down and investigate your pain and confusion, for it is through amplifying the pain that hope is revived.  Doing the work is uncomfortable at times (you gotta feel it to heal it), but you will be honored by me every step of the way.
